About
Thanks for visiting! In the past I’ve used my blog to post updates on how I’ve integrated technology in the classroom as well as information for teachers participating in the professional development course I taught.
I’ve recently started a new job and I plan on using this blog a little differently. I am now an instructional technologist at the university level and primarily work with faculty to help them use technology to support their efforts in the classroom. I work for Fordham University in the Instructional Technology Academic Computing (ITAC) branch of the IT department and spend most of my time at the Faculty Technology Center on the Rose Hill campus. I’ve started writing on the ITAC blog and generally make posts about Blackboard, best practices, or Web 2.0 applications.
The following is my old “About” page
Thanks for visiting! I am a Math Teacher in Brooklyn, NY who is very interested in integrating technology into the classroom as well as sharing with others what I have learned along the way.
I have several big goals for this school year…
I would like to incorporate more technology into my classes. I already utilize the SmartBoard during class as well as have students work on several internet-based projects— this year I want to include video podcasts and blogs to the types of projects my students work on. I think that these projects are a great way to get students excited about Math while incorporating more writing across the curriculum at the same time…….
My other big goal is to use this blog to chronicle the work that I do with other faculty members during our professional development sessions (aka common staff time or CST). Over the course of the 2007-2008 school year I will meet with my cohort 8 times during CST to present different types of technology that can be integrated with the SmartBoard. I have designed the 8 session course to include topics such as Features of the SmartBoard, Intermediate PowerPoint, Graphic Organizers, Podcasting, RSS feeds, Blogging, Social Bookmarking, Web 2.0, and more.
So stay tuned!! I will be adding pages of resources throughout the year as well as continuing to post updates
